Dr. Deb Ford shares her personal journey of overcoming Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) to inspire others. She describes her lifelong health struggles, including being on antibiotics for years, dealing with weight issues, and experiencing severe hormonal problems as a teenager, which led to an ovary removal and a scheduled hysterectomy. Instead of surgery, she changed her lifestyle, leading to her recovery and a new career helping women reverse hormonal imbalances through a 90-day nutrition program.
Key Takeaways
Dr. Deb Ford's passion for helping others overcome PCOS comes from her own experience of recovering from the condition.
Her childhood health issues, including long-term antibiotic use and being a sugaraholic, may have contributed to her later metabolic problems.
As a teenager, she suffered from classic PCOS symptoms like depression, anxiety, acne, and excess hair growth, leading to an ovary removal at age 17.
At 22, facing a hysterectomy for the same issues on her remaining ovary, she decided against surgery and sought alternative solutions.
After changing her lifestyle, her remaining ovary normalized within two months, leading her to pursue a career in nutrition and dietetics.
She earned a doctorate in clinical nutrition, focusing on the pathways of hormones and nutrition, and developed a 90-day program to help women reverse hormonal imbalances.
Dr. Ford emphasizes that PCOS is a metabolic issue, not just hormonal, and if left uncorrected, it can lead to other serious health problems like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.
There is no "magic pill" for PCOS; instead, a complete lifestyle program is necessary for recovery and long-term health.

Why I Do What I Do - My Story To Overcoming PCOS
At a young age, I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). I was not a healthy child and I was overweight, had depression, anxiety, cavities, excess hair growth, acne, and everything else we associate with PCOS and hormone issues. After my doctor threatened a hysterectomy, I knew there had to be a natural way to heal. That's when my life changed. I started eating healthier and 2 months later my ovaries were normal. I'm a dietitian and recently received my Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition because I'm so passionate about this science. I now have 3 healthy 3 kids and 1 grandchild. I want you to be able to have the life you want also. Leave a comment below and let me know about your struggles and how I can help.
